Opportunities and challenges for African agricultural development
International Food and Agricultural Trade Policy Council Seminar Proceedings Washington DC, August 10 (2004)
On February 29, 2004, the International Food & Agricultural Trade Policy Council (IPC) brought experts in agricultural trade and development from the IPC and other organizations together with stakeholders from across the spectrum of African agriculture – government officials, farm leaders, agribusiness representatives, among others in Johannesburg, South Africa. The seminar was the first in the IPC’s Capacity Building program and addressed the expectations and responsibilities of national governments, international organizations, and the farming and business communities to help African agriculture grasp the development opportunities offered by more open agricultural trade.
